CDS Services

Community Options - CDS' day training programs offer adults, age 22 or older, an assortment of opportunities to enhance their personal, interpersonal and work readiness skills. Individualized training is based on the client's need and choices. Individuals may explore their interests in the areas of: community interests, life enrichment, personal hygiene, daily living skills, and pre-vocation.

Life Options - Life Options is a relatively new program designed to meet the needs of individuals who are less active and who more interested in community involvement and volunteer activities as opposed to work

CDS Industries - CDS Industries introduces clients to the working world in a workshop setting as well in small group community based work settings. Clients are able to further enhance work readiness skills by working Monday through Friday on packing, assembling, and inspecting products for local businesses. Clients earn a bi-weekly paycheck based on their production, offering them a sense of achievement.

Supported Employment - The Supported Employment staff work with area employers to develop job opportunities for CDS clients. Clients are placed in jobs and then trained to perform the job to meet the employer's specifications. Even after training is complete, the job coaches make routine follow-up visits on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule to ensure that the employer-employee relationship is beneficial for both parties.

Residential Services - CDS offers several residential options for individuals who are developmentally disabled including group homes with live-in staff. There are five group homes located in Martin, South Fulton and Union City. Services provided in each home are different and vary depending on the needs of the residents. All group homes have 24-hour staffing supervision, some with awake staff during the night shift and some with asleep staff. Support staff provides direct assistance for daily activities and all community outings. Essential tasks that enable individuals to learn to live more independently and comfortably in their homes are taught through household skills, personal funds management, interpersonal and social skills, and community integration.

Supported Living - CDS serves individuals through supported living services in Weakley, Carroll and Henry countries. Supported living provides residents the opportunity to live more independently in homes or their own or in rental properties with 24 hour supervision and 1 or two roommates of their choice. Supported Living enables individuals to live in smaller home settings, blending in with the normal surroundings of their communities.

Semi-Independent Living- CDS serves individuals in the capacity of Semi-Independent Living. Semi-Independent Living services provide options to individuals who do not need direct support staff to live on-site for supervision purposes, but do need intermittent or limited support to maintain daily life in community living situations.
